- Lemon garlic butter shrimp pasta is a quick, easy, and delicious meal that will tantalize your taste buds. The combination of juicy shrimp, tangy lemon, and rich butter, all tossed with tender pasta, creates a flavor explosion in every bite.
Ingredients
- 1 lb pasta (spaghetti, linguine, or fettuccine)
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 lemon, juiced and zested
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Fresh parsley or basil, for garnish (optional)

Instructions
Step 1: Fill a large pot with salted water and bring it to a boil over high heat. Add the pasta and cook according to the package instructions until it’s al dente. Reserve 1 cup of the pasta water and then drain the pasta in a colander or strainer.
Step 2: While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add the shrimp and cook until they turn pink, about 2-3 minutes. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set them aside.
Step 3: In the same skillet, melt the butter over low heat. Stir in the lemon juice and zest, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Step 4: Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat it in the lemon garlic butter sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add some of the reserved pasta water to thin it out.
Step 5: Add the cooked shrimp back into the skillet and toss everything together until well combined.
Step 6: Serve the pasta immediately, garnished with fresh parsley or basil, if desired. Enjoy
Notes
- You can adjust the amount of lemon and garlic to taste. If you prefer a stronger lemon flavor, use the juice of 1 1/2 lemons. If you like garlic, feel free to add more cloves. Additionally, you can use salted butter instead of unsalted butter if that’s what you have on hand.
