Ingredients
Scale
- 12 Medjool dates, pitted
- 12 thin slices of bacon, cut in half
- 1/4 cup of blue cheese or goat cheese (optional)
EQUIPMENT
- Baking sheet
- Parchment paper
- Toothpicks
- Oven
- Cutting board
- Knife
- Measuring cup (if needed for stuffing cheese)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Pit the dates and stuff them with a small piece of cheese if desired.
- Wrap each date with a half slice of bacon, securing the end with a toothpick.
- Place the wrapped dates on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use thin slices of bacon: Thin slices of bacon will cook faster and crispier, resulting in a better texture for the dish.
- Secure the bacon with toothpicks: To prevent the bacon from unraveling during cooking, secure the end of the bacon with a toothpick.
- Adjust cooking time as needed: Oven temperatures can vary, so it’s a good idea to check the bacon after 15 minutes of cooking to see if it’s cooked to your liking. If not, add a few more minutes of cooking time.
