Description
Pancit Canton is a popular Filipino dish made with thin wheat noodles, vegetables and protein. It’s easy to make and can be enjoyed as a meal or a snack.

- 1 pack of Pancit Canton noodles
- 1/2 cup sliced carrots
- 1/2 cup sliced cabbage
- 1/2 cup sliced green beans
- 1/4 cup sliced onions
- 1/4 cup sliced celery
- 1/4 cup sliced bell peppers
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup oyster sauce
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup sliced chicken, beef, or shrimp (optional)
EQUIPMENT
- Large pot
- Strainer
- Wok or large pan
- Spatula or tongs
- Measuring cups and spoons
- Cutting board and knife
Instructions
- Step 1: n a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add Pancit Canton noodles and cook for 2-3 minutes or until soft. Drain and set aside.
- Step 2: In a large pan or wok, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
- Step 3: Add chicken, beef, or shrimp (if using) and cook for 2-3 minutes or until browned.
- Step 4: Add onions, celery, carrots, green beans, and bell peppers. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until vegetables are slightly tender.
- Step 5: Add soy sauce and oyster sauce. Mix well and cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Step 6: Add the cooked Pancit Canton noodles and toss well to combine. Cook for 1-2 minutes or until heated through.
- Step 7: Serve hot and enjoy your homemade Pancit Canton!
Notes
- Cook the noodles properly: Make sure to cook the Pancit Canton noodles for the right amount of time, as over- or under-cooked noodles will affect the texture and taste of the dish.
- Add vegetables and protein in the right order: When stir-frying the ingredients, it’s important to add the vegetables and protein in the right order. Start with the protein, then add the onions, celery, carrots, green beans, and bell peppers.
- Adjust the seasoning to taste: The recipe calls for a specific amount of soy sauce and oyster sauce, but you can adjust the seasoning to your taste. You can add a little bit of sugar to balance out the flavors, or add more soy sauce or oyster sauce if you prefer your Pancit Canton more saucy.
