Description
Cooking chicken meatballs is a great way to enjoy a delicious meal that is both healthy and easy to make. Here are some tips for cooking the perfect chicken meatballs
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh parsley
- 1 minced garlic clove
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
EQUIPMENT
- A large mixing bowl
- Measuring cups and spoons
- A skillet with a lid
- Tongs or a spatula
- A cutting board
- A knife
Instructions
- Step1: In a large bowl, mix together the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, egg, parsley, garlic, salt and pepper.
- Step 2: Form the mixture into small, evenly-sized balls.
- Step 3: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil. Once the oil is hot, add the meatballs and cook them for about 5 minutes, or until they are browned on all sides.
- Step 4: Reduce the heat to medium-low and cover the skillet with a lid. Cook the meatballs for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until they are cooked through.
- Step 5: Serve the chicken meatballs with your favorite sauce or garnish them with fresh herbs.
Notes
- Make sure to use ground chicken with a fat content of around 90/10 or 93/7, this will ensure that your meatballs are not too dry.
- Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the meatballs. They should be cooked to an internal temperature of 165F to ensure that they are safe to eat.
- Be careful not to overcrowd the skillet when cooking the meatballs. They should be cooked in a single layer so that they brown evenly on all sides.
- If you are using breadcrumbs, make sure they are fresh. If they are stale, they will not absorb moisture and your meatballs will turn out dry.
