Ingredients

  • Potatoes(Yukon Gold) 3 pounds
  • Water 6 cups
  • Butter(dairy free) 4 tablespoon
  • Milk(dairy-free milk or cashew milk)) 6 tablespoon
  • Garlic powder ½ teaspoon
  • Pepper ½ teaspoon
  • Sour cream 2 teaspoon
  • Salt 1 teaspoon

EQUIPMENT

  • A Pot
  • Knife
  • Potato masher or fork

Instructions

Step 1: First, peel and cut the potatoes and take them into a pot. Pour the pots with 6 cups of water. cover the pot with a lead and seal the valve. Boil the potatoes for around 12-15 minutes on high heat. It should be better if the water level in the pot will remain above 1 inch, over the sliced potatoes. Containing more water will not be harmful but it takes more time to boil

Step 2: When the water starts to boil reduce the heat to medium temperature/flame add 1 teaspoon salt and boil again for 6-8 minutes more until tender. When it gets tender then turn off the heat.

 Step 3: Strain the potatoes well and keep the strained potatoes again in the pot. Used a  potato smasher or a large fork to smash the potatoes.

Step 4: Add butter, milk, garlic powder, sour cream, and remaining salt to the potatoes and mash it well until it becomes smooth and fluffy. If you desired for creamy mashed potatoes then mashed it  more or for the chunky flavor, you should not mash much.
